I have been liaising closely with the rail operators since the difficulties became apparent last week and met with representatives from GTR on 23rd May and then posted a full update on my website.
Yet despite the reassurances given by GTR, things have simply not improved and the level of service remains completely unacceptable. As a result, I requested an urgent meeting with the Rail Minister, Jo Johnson MP to discuss this situation in more detail and ensure that the Department for Transport and GTR take urgent steps to bring about improvements. That meeting is taking place early next week and includes GTR and a representative of the Rail User Group.
Chris Grayling MP, Secretary of State for Transport, yesterday wrote to all MPs outlining steps his department and GTR are taking to improve the current situation. You can read a copy of the letter here.
I will ensure the specific feedback provided by my constituents is collated and presented at my meeting on Tuesday and I will update my website going forward as I learn more.
