I have received a significant amount of correspondence from constituents in the past week ahead of consideration in the Commons of the Lord's amendments' to the EU Withdrawal Bill.
Although I and the majority in our constituency voted ‘remain,’ I do not believe we should be seeking to block Brexit. We have had a referendum and the result must be respected. However, Parliamentary sovereignty means MPs and Peers have an exceptionally important role to play in scrutinising both the legislation which will give effect to the result and the deal itself.
I am determined to help the Government secure a deal that is right for my constituents and my country - Watch my brief video which explains my position with regard to the Bill and recent votes in The House of Commons.
