During Department for Work and Pensions questions on the 15th October, Heidi asked the Secretary of State, Esther McVey about whether the Government had plans to provide additional funding for the rollout of Universal Credit.
The Secretary of State confirmed that she was focused on ensuring that Universal Credit worked, that it continued to help people into work and that it did not trap people on welfare in the way that legacy benefits had in the past. She confirmed that the Government was continuing to "listen, learn and adjust", as it had last year when it provided an additional £1.5 billion to support the introduction of Universal Credit.
The Chancellor's Budget will be delivered on the 29th October.
