Heidi Allen MP spoke during a debate in the House of Commons about the continuing roll-out of Universal Credit. As a member of the Department for Work and Pensions Select Committee, Heidi has been heavily engaged in scrutinising the roll-out of Universal Credit.
Heidi welcomed the steps already taken by the Government to provide support for Universal Credit claimants. However, she called on the Government to take additional steps to ensure that the future roll-out of Universal Credit provided additional support and ensure that the service was fully ready to meet the needs of the most vulnerable, such as people on Employment Support Allowance, before they are migrated onto Universal Credit.
